A THOUSAND FLAGS FOR A THOUSAND SCHOOLS...

It is a Campaign/Project to Awaken and bequeath Consciousness of Peace and Unity in the planet by ESTABLISHING EMBASSIES AND AMBASSADORS OF PEACE in every school and institution, from ANTARCTICA to ALASKA" so that PEACE IS BORN AND SHINE from the SOUTH POLE to the NORTH POLE

The Embassies and Peace Ambassadors interested in participating in this initiative, present a project linked to the theme of Peace and commit to:

• RESPECT, PROTECT AND PROMOTE the Flag of Peace of Nicolas Roerich

• Spread, Promote and use the Flag of PEACE in events, meetings and celebrations, web pages, Flyer graphic material as a symbol of unity and integration

• Collaborate in the dissemination of the Universal Day of Culture, April 15, International Day of Peace, September 21, and International Day of Nonviolence, October 2.

• Promote PEACE and UNITY in your immediate environment

• Have positive thoughts

• Use harmonious words

• Carry out constructive actions

• Participate in the MMP virtual communication network to exchange information and training on the topic of PEACE. (Peace Ambassadors Forum)

To seal the commitment, virtual and in-person ceremonies are held where training is provided in the culture of peace and the INTERNATIONAL FLAG OF PEACE is delivered.

The first Flag was delivered to the Esperanza Antarctica Argentina Base School 38 in 2005. Although more than 1000 flags have been delivered, the project continues to be valid and successful.

The proposal uses the information and communication technological means available to promote the culture of peace. With oneself, with others and with the planet.

  It promotes the incorporation of Education for PEACE in educational settings, generates content, audiovisual material and organizes in-person and virtual artistic, ecological, social, educational and cultural activities.

It exalts artistic manifestations as universal expressions of Peace, because art is the language that unifies all peoples.

Incorporates the celebration of the International Day of PEACE (United Nations Res. A/RES/55/282) in the school calendar, as a first step towards incorporating the teaching of PEACE and the Culture of PEACE at all levels educational.

The design of the Flag of Peace created by Nicolás Roerich, unanimously accepted by 21 countries in America on April 15, 1935, is a symbol of Unity and integration between diverse cultures, rescuing the achievements of the past and working on positive and committed to the future. The Peace Flag design shows three spheres surrounded by a circle, in magenta on a white background. It symbolizes a deep understanding of the 'triune' nature of existence; and for the purposes of the Banner of Peace, Roerich described the circle as the totality of culture, containing the three spheres, representing Spirituality, Art and Science, as aspects of Culture. He also described them as the achievements of humanity in the Past, Present and Future, within the circle of Eternity. Both interpretations represent a synthesis of life, which is a true and just guiding principle.
